Summer Activities & Things To Do In Edson

It’s officially summertime here in Edson and we can’t wait to get out and start exploring all the fun things Edson has to offer this summer! If you’re ready to step out into the sunshine and explore the world we live in, now is the time! There are so many exciting things coming up and we can’t wait to click the leash on our favorite pups, strap on our sneaks, and hit the town!


We put together a list of all the fun events to attend, places to go, and pet businesses to hit up this summer here in Edson. Take a look! ⬇️


Events To Attend:


June 22 – Eddie’s Big Run

Who: All Ages!

When: 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Where: Repsol Place


Calling all running fanatics! The 10th annual run is happening on June 22nd! Make sure to register now at or in person at Repsol Place. This event is for runners of all shapes and sizes! Get the whole family involved and choose from the Kid’s Run or go to the extreme and choose to run the 10KM!


July 1 – Annual Canada Day Celebrations

Who: All Ages!

When: 11:00am to 11:30pm

Where: Centennial Park


It’s time to celebrate Canada and we can’t wait to do it up big at RMP Centennial Park! Meet us there on July 1 starting at 11:00!  There are so many fun events happening on that day. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect:

  • 11:00am – 3:00pm: Family Fun including a photo booth, face paint, and bouncy houses! Bring the kiddos and have a blast with tons of fun activities for kids of all ages!
  • 7:00pm – 11:00pm: Evening Entertainment including a beer garden, caricatures, and live music.
  • 11:15pm: Firework Show!


May 3 & August 7 – Youth Only Pool Parties

Who: Youth aged 11 to 17

When: 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Where: Repsol Place Pool


If your kids are aged 11-17, this one’s for you! Repsol Place Pool is hosting Youth Only Pool Parties! On May 3 and August 7 from 7:00pm – 9:00pm, bring your friends and hang out for a completely free and fun pool party! (Just make sure to leave the parents at home… or make sure they’re cool enough to hang 😉)!


July 27 – Community Colours in the Park

Who: All Ages!

When: 2:00pm to 10:00pm

Where: RCMP Centennial Park


Get dressed up in your most colourful clothes and enjoy some fun in the park! The Yellowhead Fiddlers will be there along with Storytime with Rachel and Edson’s Dance Enthusiasts and Edson Cabin Singers! Participate in the Community Art Project, dance demos, crafts, face paint, free food and snacks, and a beer garden for adults! This is a colourful time you won’t want to miss!


August 28 Pirates of the Carribean: The Curse of the Black Pearl Free Viewing

Who: All Ages

When: Movies starts after sunset

Where: RCMP Centennial Park


Dress up in yer finest pirate or buccaneer clothing and leave your dubloons at home because this event is free! The Youth Interagency Outdoor Movie is Presenting Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, starting right after sunset! There will be some cash concessions and beverages available for purchase!


Places to Go:


Edson’s Off-Leash Dog Park

Bring your pup to Edson’s only dog park! It’s a large fenced in park with a large lake. Your pup will be able to socialize, get exercise, and burn off energy all summer long!


Willmore Park

Filled with hiking trails, scenic views, and plenty of camping grounds, Willmore Park is the perfect destination to hang with your leashed pet. Spend an hour strolling around, taking in the views, or a day hiking the extensive trails. If you’re looking for adventure, why not stay overnight and rough it in an authentic camping experience?

We may be biased, but if you’re going out of town this summer, there’s no better pet sitter or dog walker than us! This summer is all about relaxing and enjoying life!
